April 17th

When I found out I was pregnant at the beginning of April, I was determined to stay on track in terms of training for my marathon and running it.  I did the math, and I would have been 11 weeks along on the day of the race.  I knew I could do it, but I knew it wouldn’t be easy.  I was pretty determined.  In fact, before my training runs, my husband would tell me to be careful and not to push it too hard.  I would tell him not to worry because I would “channel my inner Serena”. (Serena Williams won a tennis tournament early on in her pregnancy).  I had been keeping up with the training schedule and I was feeling just as strong as before.  My mental game felt unstoppable at that point.  I couldn't be broken!
